New York, we love you (mostly), but this week, we could sort of care less who’s playing in any of our fine boroughs, so we’re leaving you to your own show-seeking devices. We believe in you!
One thing we can offer, however, is a (subjective) guide to this weekend’s jam-packed Newport Folk Festival. (*Caveat: these recommendations belong only to Stef, who also claims zero responsibility for musical regrets following aforementioned festival.)
Below are some map-markings showing preliminary must-see set decisions. Much internal debate went into these selections, folks. The sets marked with stars are top priority. Those marked with hearts and/or lips are top get-Father-John-Misty-to-propose-to-me priority.
