The deeply reflective title track off of Noah Gundersen’s latest album Ledges (Amazon MP3 & Spotify) is one that I’ve listened to almost everyday for the last few weeks. As the Seattle-based singer songwriter told Paste, the album is lightly produced with some mistakes left in. That theme of authenticity carries over into the albums lyrics as well.
“Writing ‘Ledges’ was a purifying process for me,” Gundersen told Paste. “In three verses, I was able to sum up exactly where I was in life, with no real answer, but a declaration of hope and uncertainty.”
Check out a stripped down performance of the song by Gundersen and his sister/band member, Abby, at their hometown station, KEXP. Catch the band live at Rockwood Music Hall next Tuesday, March 25th. This is my new favorite song (MNFS).
