Indie rock bands don’t make this blog too often, but when they sound more like Dawes and My Morning Jacket than all of that other stuff, we give them a listen. Brooklyn-based Animal Years released its debut LP, Sun Will Rise (Amazon MP3 & Spotify), in September after the band’s Baltimore-native frontman Mike McFadden decided he didn’t like the singer/songwriter thing. The band will headline Rockwood’s New Year’s Eve bash this week. Here’s “Meet Me,” the LP’s opener.
