It’s that magical time of year when you may show up at one of any of your (or our) must-see shows and find a bass player wearing a Santa costume or hear the band play their best bluegrass rendition of Let It Snow or spy many-a-drummer with sleighbells in lieu of tambo. None of these have happened to us yet, btw, but there’s still time for hoping. And hoping is exactly what we’ll be doing ahead of this week’s shows.
We’re never not excited (double-negative alert) to see Darlingside when they stop through the city, and apparently the city agrees. Their Friday show is sold out, so if you happen to be in the ‘hood and want to take a shot at shimmying in, stop by and try your luck.
And if you want to do more than just hope for some happenstance holiday tunes this week, they’re actually guaranteed at The Gregory Brothers’ annual Christmas show, which happens Monday at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2.
