This Week’s Must-See Shows in NYC

If your Red House Painters and Sun Kil Moon playlists are getting a little dusty, you should probably create a new one for frontman Mark Kozelek’s latest project, the Desertshore band. Oh and also he’ll be playing on Monday at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, so there’s that. You’ll find us there drinking whiskey and being pensive in the corner. Don’t interrupt.

And let’s be honest. Whether a banjo or a Big Muff is tastiest to your musical palette, you’ll probably be at the Lorde show in Williamsburg on Thursday night, since – apparently – she and sliced bread are on an even playing field. How-ev-er, if you decide to go against the grain, I strongly suggest coming out to mellow Park Slope to see friends (both literally and in name) Sam Friend (see? told you) & the Freckles play alongside new faves Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas at The Rock Shop.
