They’re arguably be the “it” band of the moment … and their moment is sure to last for some time to come. Alabama Shakes’ ‘Boys and Girls’ is an album made for a live show, and I can’t wait to see what they do in person. They’ll play back-to-back, sold-out shows this week at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg — be on the lookout for a last-minute release of tickets, and while we would never want to say, “support the scalpers!” … this show might be worth a trip to StubHub.com. Just sayin’. Below is a live version of the group performing the title (as well as one of my favorite) track at a live session for HearYa.com last month. Also, NPR still has their First Listen posted — check it out, and order your copy!

Not to go without special mention, Lost in the Trees – another one of the bands responsible for one of my favorite albums of the year thus far – will play le poisson rouge on Wednesday. This show is not sold out … yet. So don’t think, just buy.
