
Okay, as we all know, the Newport Folk Fest lineup came out this week. And yes, it’s amazing. And yes, we want it to be here … tomorrow. No, seriously — Newport, can you guys move it to next weekend? Thanks.
So, how exactly does one manage to hold out another five (good Lord, really?) long, aching months? Not really sure, but I think the next few weeks of shows will help. They’re shaping up to be pretty awesome, and it all starts with a basket full of artists that you should aim to check out this week.
A couple personal faves include Eilen Jewell (check out the video below), who plays The Bell House on Thursday with The Sweetback Sisters, and Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps, who will play a duo of shows — one at Union Pool, followed by one at Rockwood Music Hall.
