Hey. Happy New Year, you. Since I’ve been slacking off on posts lately, I thought I would catch up with some quick hits in the “grass stains” format…here’s what we got.
- Xavier Rudd on Relix.com – I first saw Xavier Rudd concert in concert at the Bowery Ballroom back in 2005 (a first date with my wife). A lot has happened since then. Rudd released two albums since then, including one last year called Koonyum Sum, followed by a US tour. Relix.com just posted a great clip of him singing a track off the new album. This one is called Breeze. Check it out here.
- Justin Townes Earle on Letterman – JTE is back from rehab, touring the nation and better than ever. AND he made his network debut on Letterman last week. Check it!
- Monsters of Folk on Austin City Limits – Paste picked up on this new Monsters of Folk ACL concert. Monsters of Folk is a side project of Jim James of My Morning Jacket (the busiest man in Americana), Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes, M. Ward, and Will Johnson of Centro-matic. Delightful.
- Super Mario Grass – A father-son bluegrass duo originally from northeast Ohio called The Pats recently posted a badass bluegrass mix of the Super Mario theme song. Nerd out to it here.
That is all.
