
A few months back, I posted on Howard Fishman’s coming 2010 trilogy of albums. Well. This week all three albums – each focusing on a different location – became widely available. Each album centers on a different location. The first, Better Get Right, has genuine New Orleans feel with lots of brass. I’m a big fan of this one…especially tracks like “Since You’ve Been Gone” and the spicy rendition of traditional favorite “Down by The Riverside.”
No Further Instructions is distinctly different with a mix of folk, rock and even a few heavy accordion tunes. “Through the Countryside” is my favorite (musically and comically).
I’m still getting to know The World Will Be Different, but instantly added “Just You and I” and “Summer Rain” to a playlist or two.
Collectively, the trilogy showcases the variety of genres Howard can rock and the totally unclassifiable sound that he gives us. Here’s a nice sample and a bit of background on the trilogy here…
