The Deep Dark Woods, hailing from Saskatchewan, Canada and one of our favorites from Newport this year, released The Place I Left Behind (Amazon MP3 & Spotify) last fall. The album, the band’s fourth, includes “The Banks of the Leopold Canal,” a lengthy ballad that features gracious jamming and some nice crescendos. This is my new favorite song (MNFS).
