Anthony D’Amato to Appear at Newport

A late addition to this year’s Newport Folk Festival lineup, Anthony D’Amato, the 24-year-old singer songwriter who won praise after praise from high profile critics for his 2010 Princeton dorm-room-recorded-album, Down Wires (Amazon MP3 & Spotify), announced his spot on the festival bill on Monday. D’Amato released his sophomore album, Paper Back Bones (Amazon MP3 & Spotify), in May, which features this number called “Hank Williams,” a favorite of mine (also check out “Silver & Gold”). Look for D’Amato’s collaboration project with The Low Anthem’s Jocie Adams later this summer.
