Glen Hansard plays le poisson rouge and Beacon Theatre in NYC this week.

New York gets double-lucky this week, as Glen Hansard plays back-to-back shows Thursday and Friday at le poisson rouge and Beacon Theatre. For anyone who hasn’t yet, check out his first solo album, Rhythm And Repose , which was released on June 19. In it, Hansard’s back at it producing haunting lyrics that, yes, are largely (and indulgingly) bittersweet and aching. But, he also offers some beautifully understated tunes of faith and anticipation, like this one below – called “Song of Good Hope”:
